Walton, who lives in Ruston, is a former Associate Professor of Architecture at Louisiana Teach University where he taught architectural and watercolor classes. Twenty-seven years ago, the first Louisiana Tech University Watercolor Encounter was held under his direction. These workshops expanded to 22 states and 10 different countries including Italy, Greece, Morocco, Mexico, Bali, Indonesia, and China. Mr. Walton has studied ith several noted watcrcolorists including Edgar Whitney, who had a profound effect on his life as an artist.

He said, "I truly believe that every individual has the capacity to develop his creative expression through the painting process. There is an artist in each of us." Paintings by Mr. Walton and fourteen of his students are included in this wonderful exhibit. ters. Married to Rupert C.

Henderson in 1940. Mrs. Henderson moved with Mr. Henderson as he progressed in his career with the JC Penney Company toLake Charles, LA and Bay City.Texas. The couple retired toCIearwatcr, FL, in 1955.

They later moved to Seville Condominiums inClearwaterwhere they enjoyed many good friends. Mrs. Henderson enjoyed over fifty years of playing golf and was a long-time member of the Clearw ater Country Club. A golf league she began continues. Mrs.

Henderson worked for the JC Penney Company until leaving the workforce to raise her son. Her husband's achievements with the JC Penney Company were major sources of pride for her. She is survived by her son, Bob F. Henderson, and his wife, Joan along with granddaughters: Paige Henderson and Kimberly Gustafson, wife of Marc Gustafson, London, England. She is survived by a sister, Billie Gartman, of'Columbia, Louisiana.

She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Rupert and her sisters Mildred Richardson of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Madge Adams of Palatka, Florida. She has five surviving nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Spouse Abuse Shelter of RCS, P. O. Box 10594.

and Mrs. Mary Brown Wiley in Columbia, Louisiana. He was the fourth of five children. One brother preceded him in death. Oliver graduated from Union Centr.

High School in Columbia. Mmisiana, and continued his education at Grambling State University in Grambling, Louisiana. He was united in Holy Matrimony to Edith Green. Oliver received Christ as his personal Saviour and was baplied into the Christian faith at an early age. uniting ith St.

Paul Baptist Church in Columbia. Louisiana. He remained a member until he relocated to Detroit Michigan. He later relocated to the Chicago area and in keeping with his church covenant, Oliver united with Broadview Missionary Baptist Church on June 7,1995 under the pastorage of Reverend Clarence Hopson. He served faithfully until his homegoing.

Oliver was employed at Sun Chemical Corporation in Northlake, Illinois for over thirty years and retired due to his health. Oliver departed this life on Friday. He leaves to cherish his memories: three sister, Luclla McDonald (Robert) of May wood, Illinois, Margie Moore (Bluith) of Columbia, Louisiana and Ezelle Cross of Monroe, Louisiana; one brother Henry T.

Sr. Austin. Mrs. Shumaker, a home-maker, died Sunday, March 13, 2005 at Franklin Parish Medical Center. She is survived by her six daughters: Yvonne Shumaker Austin of Choudrant, Thelma Shumaker Allen of Grayon, Arlene Luck Shumaker Gilbert of Grayson; Juanita Goodwin of Farmerville, Mary Shumaker Cook of Fernadino Beach, and Martha Campbell Shumaker of Columbia; two sisters: Mildred Eubanks and Virgie Rice; and 19 greandchildren.

Pallbearers were Phillip Austin, Jerry Goodwin, Charles Goodwin, Jeff Shumaker, Todd Davis, and Rusty Caughron. She was the daughter of the late Joe Cox and the late Maggie Adkins Cox. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George Shumaker; four sons: Raymond, Ezra, Gregory, and Kenneth Shumaker; and two grandchildren: Mark Auston and Philip Clinton Lewis Kennedy. Survivors include: her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Burt Rogers of Clarks; her son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Tammy Craw ford of Clarks; her grandchildren: Melissa Plunkett, Josh Rogers, Kyle Rogers, and Austin Fitzgerald; her great-grandchildren: Paige Plunkett and Kayla Plunkett, and a sister, Lawana Cow art of Clarks. Mrs. Crawford was born in Epps on July 15, 1941 to the union of Lewis Troy and jewel Parrish Kennedy and died Thirsday, march 17 at her residence in Clarks.

She was a homemaker and was preceded indeath by her parents, her husbands: Donald Taylor and Floyd Crawford and brother, educated person. These two individuals are very different; however, education places each of them on the same playing field. Because of education, both individuals have the opportunity to become successful. There are many people who could have been successful but were not given the opportunity. EDUCATION IS THE ONLY KEY THAT WILL UNLOCK THE DOOR OF OPPORTUNITY.
