Delhi police said the child was sitting with her mother, Mrs.

James Goodman, of route three, Delhi, and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Oswell, also of Delhi, In the Goodman auto about 8:30 Sunday night, when Mrs. Goodman started the engine of the car to turn on the heater. The child evidently knocked It into reverse gear and the auto backed into a grease rack at Barrios Gulf Station.

Hospital officials in St. Francis in Monroe said the Goodman child suffered multiple facial injuries. Also Injured in the accident was Mrs. Oswell, who was sitting in the back seat of the auto. Extent of her injuries was not known but was not believed to be serious.
