Luther M. Myers DELHI, LA Funeral services for Luther M. Myers, of Transylvania, were held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 3, 2001, at the Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Delhi, with the Rev.

Mike Howard officiating. Burial followed in the Herringville Cemetery in Monticello, under the direction of Cox Funeral Homes of Delhi. Mr. Myers, now nestled in the arms of his Savior and Lord, passed from this world July 31, 2001 at the North Monroe Hospital in Monroe, following a lengthy illness. He was a lifelong resident of Transylvania, where he was a fanner and an avid hunter and fisherman.

He became of child of God many years ago and loved the Lord with all his heart. He instilled in his five children the Jay Eldridge, Operations TechnicianSkill Level 6, for Columbia Gulf Transmission Company, presents a check to Mike Hall, Fire Chief, Epps Ward I Volunteer Fire Department. Parker was active in Lee Joyner United Methodist Church in Monroe. Survivors include his son, Dennis Parker and his wife, Linda, of Monroe, LA; his daughter, Eleanor Beam and her husband, James, of Alexandria, LA; four grandsons -Jonathan Parker, Jeremy Parker, Jason Parker, all of Monroe, LA and James S. Beam of Jackson, MS; a granddaughter, Laura Bankston and her husband, Carson, of Baton Rouge, LA; two sisters Charlene Middleton and Mava Lee Gilmore, both of Rayville, LA; and his wife, Gertrude Scroggins Parker of Sikes, LA. Serving as pallbearers were Jonathan Parker, Jeremy Parker, Jason Parker, James S. Beam, Carson Bankston and Ruben Midyett.

Honorary pallbearers were Thomas Pettis, Frank Wiltshire, Mike Middleton and Benny Love. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Zebedee Baptist church in Rayville, or to the Lee Joyner United Methodist Church in Monroe. Leonard Dale Mitchell RAYVILLE, LA- Funeral services for Leonard Dale Mitchell, 47, of Bellvue, Ohio, will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 10, 2001, at the Brown-Holley Funeral Home Chapel with Dr.

Ernest Winburn officiating. Burial will follow in the Start Cemetery, under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home of Rayville. Mr. Mitchell died Aug. 5, 2001 at his residence in Ohio, following a sudden illness.

He was a former resident of Rayville, La. Survivors include his wife, Debbie Mitchell, of Bellvue, OH; his sons -Thomas Mit'chcTbtRellvujj and Chris Mitchellj-and his inife, Amy Bums MitcnerFfV RayviWLA; his father, Lloyd Mitchell of Rayville, LA and Lena Mitchell Graham, of Vicksburg, MS; his brother, Carl Mitchell of West Monroe, LA; and two sisters Gail Greer and her husband, Edward, of Rayville, LA and Deborah Ditto and her husband, Scott, of Vicksburg, MS. Serving as pallbearers will be David Hammett, Robby Bryant, Cecil Hicks, Edward Greer, Scott Ditto and Brad Sullivan. Visitation is Aug. 9, from 5-8 p.m.

Patricia Lingefelt Godwin DELHI, LA Funeral services for Patricia A. Lingefelt, 43, of Epps, were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001, at the Cox Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. James Kitchens and Curt Goddard officiating.

Burial followed in the Epps Cemetery, under the direction of Cox Funeral Homes of Delhi. Mrs. Godwin was born April 5, 1958, in Delhi and died August 1, 2001 at the St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, following a short illness. Patricias love for God, music and family was carried with her as her Aunt Shirley and cousin, Brenda, peacefully sang her to sleep and her loving family stood by her bedside.

Patricia was a very special person to all that knew her. Her love of life, her warm smile and her willingness to always help others will be greatly missed by all that knew her. She was preceded in death by a sister, Jeanette Lingefelt Tarver, and by her grandparents, Martha and Tommy Lingefelt and Mamie and Frank Walker. Survivors include her husband, Jeff Godwin of Epps, LA; a son, Brad Lingefelt and his fiance Lauren Mc Kinney, of Epps, LA; a step daughter, Misty Godwin of Lawrenceburg, TN; her parents, Virdell and Gladys Lingefelt; a sister, Pam Guice and her husband, Jeff; two brothers Larry Lingefelt and his wife, Patsy, and Todd Lingefelt and his wife, Cathy, all of Epps, LA; five nephews and five nieces, along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who loved her dearly. Serving as pallbearers were Dylan Jones, Matt York, Joey Mercer, Paul Freeland, Donald Myers, Glenn Barnhill, Donnie Holly and Eddie Stokes.

Girdie Sherman Parker RAYVILLE, LA Funeral services for Girdie Sherman Parker, 89, of Monroe, were held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, July 31, 2001, at the Zebedee Baptist Church near Rayville, with the Revs. Weldon Bares, Marcelle Crow and James Kitchens officiating. Burial followed in the Greer Cemetery, near Rayville, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Homes of Rayville. Mr.

Parker died July 29, 2001 at the North Monroe Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rowena Wiltshire Parker. He was a retired farmer and owner of Parker Grocery, and was a charter member of the Zebedee Baptist 1 Stephenson Morrell Stephenson RAYVILLE, LA Funeral services for Morrell Stephenson, 63, of Mangham, were held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 6, 2001, at the Brown-Holley Funeral Home Chapel, with Elder W.

C. Hatten officiating. Burial followed in the Gwin Cemetery in Mangham, under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Homes of Rayville. Mr. Stephenson died Friday, Aug.

3, 2001 at his residence, following a lengthy illness. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church in Oak Grove, and worked for many years as a law enforcement officer, serving with both the Rayville and Mangham police departments. Mr. Stephenson loved to play dominoes and was an avid fisherman. He will forever hold a special place in the hearts of many.

Survivors include his wife, Elsie Jordan Stephenson of Mangham, LA; his five sons and daughters-in-law Chuck and Rachel Stephenson and Tim and Sheila Stephenson, all of Rayville, LA, and Mike and Sharon Stephenson, Brandon Stephenson and Caleb Stephenson, all of Mangham, LA; his grandchildren and their spouses Mandi Stephenson Hollis and her husband, Cory, of Rayville, LA, Andy Suspjienson and his wife, Crystal, of Beaufort, SC, Mb Stephenson of Rayville, LA, Brandy Stephenson Williams of Mangham, LA, Sarah Stephenson of Mangham, LA, Brandon Blaylock of Mangham, LA, Alan Stephenson of Rayville, LA, Jeffrey Stephenson of Mangham, LA and Jordan Stephenson of Dunn, LA; two great grandchildren Alyssa Williams and Jonathan Williams, both of Mangham, LA; his sisters and brothers-in-law Allie Mae and M. H. Brister of Rayville, LA and Nelwyn and Jake Martin of Ruston, LA; and his brother and sister-in-law Dan and Elizabeth Stephenson of Ferriday, LA. Serving as pallbearers were Brandon Blaylock, Andy Stephenson, Travis Stephenson, 1 1 a.m. Lunch Hot Dog on a bun Wednesday August 15: 7 a.m.

Exercise equipment, television and board games are also available each day. Persons aged 60 or older are welcome to join the center for lunch and activities. Interested parties wishing to have lunch with the center should call by 12 noon the day before you wish to attend for lunch.

Serving as pallbearers were Wayne King, Jerry King, Ronnie King, Jimmy Muse, Sonny Muse and Bo Skipper. Honorary pallbearers were Dalton Mobley, Doyle Mobley, George Richie and Frank Thornhill.
