There is no limit to the prosperity of such an enterprising frm as Messrs. ScetARFr and we hope that their brightest expectations may be fully realized. ---4- MsA inherit from their parents, graud-parents, and even from their remote ancestors peculiarities of mind or soul the same as they inherit physical traits.

You ofteu hear it said of a child that he is the image of his father or mother, and again of a stur pil child, "how could he be otherwise? his parents are so dull." AMen inherit their virtues and their vices, in other words their souls, virtuous or vicious as the case may be from their parents or ancestors. These peculiar conditions of mind or soul, are increased or diminished by surrounding circumstances, by the home influences of the little child, by school associations, and by the companions of the youth. If men would only dare to use fearlessly their reasoning faculties they would see these things clearly. A man can improve, educate, purify, ennoble, refine and exalt his mind or soul to an indelinate extent. He can also debase and degrade his mind or soul until he beconmes lower than the beasts of the field.

How important then, if we would enjoy good society, that we labor to elevate the moral status of our community, by bringing every good influence to bear upon the rising genieration that will lead their minds to a knowledge of the truth, and ereate in their tender hearts a lasting love for "the beauty of holiness." Tun LATEST IMProvE3tM.T.--It affords us no little pleasure to be able to state, for the information our coontry friends, that Messrs. YErzao -CAMPBELL have opened a Cash Store in Itayville for the purpose of supplying our people with such things as tl'ey may need on better terms than can be had from other markets, for the money. These gentlemen have opened just such an establishment in our townr as the citizens of this vicinity have long felt the need of, i. a place where goods can be bought at the lowest price for cash. Most of our citizens have a little money to dispose of now and tbe 25 per cent hitherto added to sustain the credit system in the cunotry has forced many to send their orders, with the cash, to other markets, while our merchants at home were laboring to live on timne.

This eourse, which is ruinous in its effects upon every enterpise for the advancement of our local interests, can now be abandoned with mutual beneIt, while the large amount of money heortore furnished by ar people for Sthe upbuiiding of otbher ections, can he kept in eireulation at home, and the purchaser saved the time, trouble aad risk of ordernlag seek things as -may be needed from other markets. We cordially welcome Messrs. Yman CAtm to the mercantile fold of our youngo and growing town, and bespeak for them, both socially and fiancially, a bright and successful career in our midst. Capt. sad young Mr.
